Jim Wagners Guide ServiceJim’s been guiding on Grand Lake full time for 26 years. He fishes Spoonbill 7 months of the year. The Spoonbill is also known as a Paddlefish because of it spoon shaped snout. Jim has 100% success rate on spoonbill.
Jim also fishes for White Bass in the rivers during the spring and in the lake the rest of the year.
When it comes to Catfish, Jim fishes not only with hook and line but loves to put out jugs. It’s a GREAT way to catch a lot of fish. People like to have big family fish fries. Grand Lake Catfish are some of the best eating in the country.

Jim also fishes crappie but since crappie are in record decline on Grand, he goes to other lakes. Jim has also been known to take clients out for ‘Alligator Gar’. It’s really a great sport fish. They jump out of the water just like trout and the lures are really special for these fish.

Jim can accommodate large parties and has several guides that work for him. With his experience and team, you are assured of a Great Trip! The boats used are large Stealth boats with center console, 23 foot long and over 8 feet wide. The Tackle and Lures are furnished too! For us to go fishing, all you need to bring is an Oklahoma Fishing License, what you want to drink and eat, and maybe a raincoat just in case
